My present job description as an “incarcerated individual”
has my work assignment as the Mess Hall, I kind of enjoy working it because it allows me to interact with the majority of the “incarcerated individual” population.
I stay healthy in here, the majority of food on commissary is horrible for us, so I take personal responsibility and enjoy the aspects of my job and food safety to keep guys like me alive and well. Those are the spoils of my job.
Pretty much now if you don’t have a job you’re locked down and have to be creative in working out, so once you come back from work you have to sacrifice your comforts. Like turning your bed on its end to do pull-ups off of the bars on it. At least they’re not screwed or nailed to the floor. Irregardless, I can’t help a lot of the guys I was helping to exercise. Because that’s what I do. Aside from working out, most if not all programs have been cancelled at this time due to an illegal strike by corrections officers here in NY.
Hopefully this communication provided by inmate passions will help me find somebody whose interested in talking about these things that affect our incarcerated lives, because a lot of the time these same things affect all our lives whether incarcerated or not.
