widowed i have been recently widowed. although i have never been incarcerated i understand what it is like to go through a life-altering tragedy. a while ago i was approached about the possibility of writing inmates. having had friends who were and are incarcerated i accepted the challenge. it has been an extremely rewarding experience. i have learned that we all have prisons we live in. while some are freedom impaired, hearts and minds are free to travel anywhere. although the body is confined, the spirit is free. my prison is fear, doubt, and depression. it holds me back from moving on and living a full happy life. i have learned a lot and enjoy the challenge of bringing life on the outside to those on the inside.
