I am currently involved with an ex-lover who is currently incarcerated. He has stopped calling or writing and he's not in segregation or lockup. I have denied him on many angles such as being his girl while incarcerated, phone sex, actual sex when the opportunity presented itself but I have also been there for him through other matters such as money, encouragement, visits, contacting his family, expressing my feelings for him..... I felt we had a true connection although it was getting routine because I talked to him so much. We've always been open with each other and now he just completely shuts down. We recently had a upset because my mail has been slow. LOL! I'll say I sent it (and I do) but just not on the date I promised. I admitted to dragging my feet but also there has been mail that I sent that has never made it to him??? So he may feel I am toying with him? So I am posting this because may be some other guys/ladies who have the inside scoop can enlighten me. I'm just a little confused over whether this is a wrap on us, is this a move to make me visit him or is this a move to show me how it feels when I am not available to answer his call/write or visit routinely even though we talk routinely/comply with his relationship demands.... I've explained to him that I truly care for him but I will not disrespect myself or act out of character other than that I'm there.

.You have to understand that jail or prison takes everything from you that makes you whole. it takes a special and strong person to make it out in one piece and somewhat left a human being. Being there for them is the best and most important thing you can do!

`#1 Do you realize how hard men have it in there? They are on a schedule. They have to pay high prices for food, clothing, shoes, etc. The prison does NOT provide shampoo and toothpaste FREE like one thinks. The highest paying job pays $20 a week and you are working like a dog 8 hours a day. Most jobs pay $3.00 to $10.00 a week. Stamps can be hard to come buy on an income so low... with everything else they need to buy to survive. Maybe he is out of money and cant mail you. Sounds like you can buy stamps and envelopes and paper alot cheaper than what he can pay for it. The fact that you just said your putting him off makes my skin crawl. The LAST thing you want to do to someone on the inside is play with their head. Its just cruel and NOT cool at all! Its not like he can drive on over and see you or call you 100x a day. He cant. He is stuck. You either understand and take his feelings into consideration, or you dont. Stop playing games, if you feel a certain way write him and tell him that, and cut it off completely if you must. Because all he has in there is time to think, and you dont even want him thinking worse as he could blow up and get in trouble! Just my .02
